Technical Architect

Summary: Role Specific Responsibilities:
The Technical Architect role combines significant breadth and depth of technical knowledge with strong leadership skills. The Architect role will provide a consultancy function to Technology management by providing in depth analysis, review and problem solving to present technical design recommendations. The Architect will work with the development teams to implement these recommendations. Candidates must have strong a proven track record of tangible accomplishments in a demanding environment. Direct experience in a similar role or strong and diverse technical background would be ideal. Candidates will be expected to provide technical recommendations support by analysis across a broad spectrum of technologies and possess the ability to influence, shape strategic direction and exercise technical authority over complex projects.
Responsibilities to include:
• Consultancy with regards to MO/BO technical design and infrastructure
• Establishes and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, Technical managers and development managers.
• Leverage technical expertise to provide sound recommendations
• Ownership of technical design and strategy
• Assists in the setting of quality and performance standards.
• Advises on workflow, process and technical tools
Experience & Technical Skills Desired:
• 1 / 2.1degree or equivalent required
• Excellent understanding of OO design principles along with strong architectural skills, experience in software design and development lifecycle.
• Subject matter expert
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Commodities product knowledge would be a plus
• Team player
Candidates should have an architect’s mind-set, with an orientation toward solving real-world business problems, and solid understanding of many core technical topics:
• Application Development; C#, C++, Java, VB, Pearl, shell scripting

• SDLC Methodologies - Waterfall, RUP, XP, SCRUM, etc
• Agile development & related tools for test-driven development, continuous integration
• Virtualization technologies - vmware, SoftGrid, Xen
• XML, Web Services, and SOA experience
• Workflow experience
• FIX, FpML, SWIFT, other electronic exchange schemas/protocols
