Telecom Analyst

Summary: A Telecom Analyst’s job is to validate all LEC invoices to determine if rates and/or charges are valid and correct. Invoices must be paid on a timely basis as not to cause any interruption in service to our facilities. Telecom Services works with many other departments within Securus to determine if all costs and expenditures are valid and/or these costs and expenditures can be eliminated and/or discuss other means for reducing costs, but with the same quality of service to our facilities. Telecom Services must find the best service for our customers, using the most cost-effective measures with our vendors. Communication with vendors and other inter-office departments is crucial in the Telecom Services department, as we are responsible for keeping costs down so revenue can increase.
Description: Open, stamp, code, enter into LEC Bills and Great Plains, mail vendor checks, and file all LEC bill invoices by site.
Handle any/all pager, cellular phone and blackberry issues. This includes, but not limited to, ordering new devices, disconnecting old devices, opening HEAT tickets for equipment issues. In addition, audit all invoices for discrepancies, rate charges and user names.
Add or delete any/all lines from AT&T OneNet accounts, using AT&T Business Direct IOM website.
Keep T-NETIX TTS database current with all installs, de-installs, line additions, line disconnects and traffic vendor changes.
Track monthly spend for MCI, SBC and ATT contracts.
Qualifications:
Required:
Strong verbal and written communication skills a must
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and be flexible
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work with internal and external customers
Self-directed with a cost conscious mindset
Preferred:
College degree preferred
A minimum of 2 years’ telecommunications experience
A minimum of 3 years’ accounts payable experience
Experience with mid-large tier accounting software packages and MS Great Plains experience
Prior experience working in a software environment; Proficient in Microsoft products: Outlook, Word and Excel
