RESPONSIBILITIES
UNIX Oracle physical DBA for Telecom Oracle-based applications.
Responsibilities will include DBMS installation
Sizing, and building data bases and tables
Monitoring, tuning, and performance management of the DB environment, definition with client and day-shift groups, implementing off-shift maint work when necessary to meet team objectives,and providing comprehensive turnover documentation to night team personnel when appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
Oracle physical DBA expertise (minimum 3 years), SQL coding familiarity,
UNIX environment familiarity and scripting skills, strong problem solving skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, self- directed with good organizing and planning skills, supportive of standards, must wear pager and participate in 24X7 support, must be willing to work off-shift when necessary,
disciplined approach to performing job requirements, effective participant in a team environment and client-focussed.
Current practical experience with RMAN, PL/SQL, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle 9i/10g, RAC, DataGuard/Standby, Streams, Grid Control, and DB performance tuning tools (PerfStat, AWR) is required.
MUST BE EXTREMELY COGNIZANT OF THE DEMANDS OF SUPPORTING HIGH AVAILABILITY MISSION-CRITICAL DBs
IN THE PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT OF A MAJOR NATIONAL COMPANY.

COMPENSATION
55.00/hr. - Plus APR Medical/Dental Benefits package, 401k plan, etc.. - benefits available shortly into this contract (30+ days - starting with the 1st of the following month of the start date).
Green Card Holders and US citizens are eligible for this position.
If an offer is made, a 7 year criminal background check and Drug Screen will be conducted.
Candidate must be pass both screenings to be hired.
